“Carima” a Finesse 21 Gaff Cutter 21ft Loa x 8ft beam x 2ft draft & 5ft draft centreplate down
A modern classic, this beautifully presented Finesse 21 was built by A.F.Platt of Essex in 1988 with East Coast sailing in mind. Clinker planking in varnished iroko on oak frames. With varnished timber spars, she sets a Gaff mainsail, staysail and furling jib, all in tan Dacron. Inboard diesel engine is a 9hp Yanmar with shaft drive. Below deck she has 3 berths, galley with gas stove, and a Davey coal fired cabin heater. Well maintained she gives all the pleasure of an “old gaffer” but with the benefit of more recent construction. She is currently in commission on the Orwell, and can be viewed by appointment. 2008 OGA prizewinner.
